Is this the biggest barrier to menopause awareness training? (it’s not always budget)

Menopause Awareness Training

Let’s talk about something you’ve probably said to yourself and heard from your colleagues:

‘I just haven’t got time to do menopause training right now.’

I used to work in Corporate Land so I’m fairly familiar with what was said and felt when training was mentioned.

I do think we have to be honest about how people feel about training and talk about it, don’t you?

Some believe training means disappearing from your desk, your team, your inbox for a whole day, maybe longer. And that feels like a luxury you can’t afford because you’ve got one heck of a ‘To do’ list…

And perhaps you’re saying the same as other organisations.

‘We’ll book menopause training when things calm down.’

But it’s not always about the hours in the diary or even the budget.

  •  It can be the fear of how long it will take to catch-up afterwards.

How you really feel about training

You and your colleagues have done training before so you know the drill.

Off you go to the training, you learn something useful, and then you spend the next two days wading through the backlog of work it created for you and ploughing through umpteen emails and catching up on calls.

So your brain has quietly filed ‘training’ under ‘time consuming’, even before you’ve weighed up what it might actually be worth.

Why menopause training matters

Worryingly employment tribunal claims involving menopause are climbing year on year and this isn’t a hypothetical risk anymore. Research by law firm Nockolds, based on figures from HM Courts and Tribunal Services, showed menopause-related claims rose from 64 in 2022 to 204 in 2024.

And the Government have introduced Menopause Action Plans and making them mandatory from next year, for some larger organisations.

Meanwhile, every capable woman who leaves because she felt unsupported takes her experience, and her knowledge with her and replacing her costs far more than training would have.

And underneath it all, you’ve got managers who are terrified of saying or doing the wrong thing, so they say nothing at all which could be doing more harm than good.

That’s potential risks and costs quietly compounding while the training waits quietly in the wings for you.

Every day can be a menopause learning day

Instead of thinking about menopause training being a day or two out of the office and a drain on time, think about it as information you can take in during your working day.

I know how busy people are and that’s exactly why I built my online menopause course the way I did.

The best menopause education isn’t always a day’s seminar you sit through.

It can be delivered online and give specific answers to the exact question you and your colleagues have right now with useful and helpful resources at your fingertips.

For managers specifically, it isn’t a symptoms list of perimenopause they necessarily find the most useful.

It’s a framework they can use to help them have a difficult conversation with a colleague they are worried about after noticing their performance has dipped, it’s awareness about menopause and the law that keeps you and your colleagues away from costly tribunals, it’s understanding how symptoms can be made worse in the workplace and what support will make the difference.

That’s exactly why I built my online menopause course the way I did.

  • No full days out of the office.
  • No mountain of catch-up waiting for you when you log on.
  • No frantic checking in during breaks on your training days.

A course you and your managers can access during your working day and with lessons ranging from 3–minutes to 11-minutes in length they won’t take big chunks of time from the working day.

Work through them one lesson at a time.

If ‘We don’t have time’ has been the thing standing between your organisation and menopause training, this is for you.
